1976 VW Type 2 Bay Window Poptop Camper

Australian - RHD Automatic
SOLD

If you have been dreaming of owning a classic VW camper but you prefer an automatic gearbox and Right-hand drive then this is the bus for you. Imported from sunny Australia this Poptop has been repainted, refitted inside and has just gone through a very thorough mechanical overhaul.

Powered by the larger VW “Type 4” engine she also has a factory fitted 3-speed automatic gearbox and servo assisted disc brakes making this the easiest of all the Type 2’s to drive. We can also fit power steering for an additional £1500 if required. Just out of the workshops here at The VW Camperco Ltd where we have carried out a comprehensive overhaul including removing the engine and gearbox to repaint the engine bay.

The work included rebuild twin carburettors, all new brakes, new shock absorbers, new control cables, new battery, new tyres, new hub caps, new fuel pump, new fuel gauge unit, auto gearbox service, new headlights, new MOT and loads of other minor repairs all recorded on the worksheets. In total 90 hours labour and over £2000 in parts.

On the exterior this rust free bus was fully repainted in summer yellow and bumpers repainted in white. The wheels have been powder coated in fresh silver and fitted with new tyres and hub caps. The poptop roof has a new bellows fitted and the boards are there for a second double bed.

The interior has been refurbished retaining the original layout with new wood and fabric. Includes a fridge, cooker, sink, pumped water, loads of storage and a unique Australian only version hotplate.
